Books, Comics and Now Action Figures!
Blogging like it’s still 2005, Collected Wonders started out as somewhere for me to put down some thoughts on the books and comics I read.
In trying to put some shape to my reading, I’ve begun a project of reading from the earliest re-printed comic in my collection forwards. If you know your superhero history, this is no surprise – Superman’s first appearance in Action Comics #1, June 1938!
So I’ve been steadily ploughing through the Golden Age of comics courtesy of DC’s Omnibus line and the (dearly departed?) Marvel Masterworks. I’m no comics historian, but I’ve posted a few thoughts here and there.
Since 2024, I’ve re-kindled my childhood love of Masters of the Universe and have started collecting the Masterverse line. So that’s where my focus has been recently. However, there will be some more posts about what I’ve been reading sprinkled in.
I’ve tried to keep this website as minimal as possible when it comes to cookies, etc. There are no ads and all out going links are simply things related to what I’m talking about in the post. So no icky tracking and referral links. If you’re interested, there’s more detail in the privacy policy.
I’m toying with the idea of adding a web shop to this website. Hence the shop link up in the main menu. I quite often swap editions of books, change my mind on a purchase or just plain old prune my collections to make room. So thought a simple web shop might be a good outlet for that.
There’s some (very) slow and steady work going on on that behind the scenes, so perhaps there will be something to see there in the not so distant future!
