This is the cover and splash page to issue #39, July 1977 and 1977 was the year of the Silver Jubilee in the UK. It certainly looks like Marvel was marking it in eye catching fashion!
Even I’m not old enough to be able to remember the Silver Jubilee but quite a neat coincidence, no? This year being the Platinum Jubilee!
Hopefully, celebrations this year won’t be interrupted by a mind-controlled Captain Britain!
