I’m very behind with Marvel Masterworks for reasons which will become clear. Especially if I manage to pull my finger out and do the next series of posts I’m planning!
However! I did get a couple for Christmas: Spider-Woman Vol. 4 and Marvel Two-in-One Vol. 7.

The former wraps up the original 1980s run for Jessica Drew as Spider-Woman. If I recall correctly she winds up as a private detective for a while and this idea served as inspiration for the much later Jessica Jones character.

Marvel Two-in-One Vol. 7 continues the Thing’s (plus guest star’s) adventures into the early 1980s. This line has lagged a little behind other Masterworks so it’s good to see it reaching the 1980s.
Marvel Two-in-One is one of the clunkier titled comics out there. It was basically a vehicle for the Thing from the Fantastic Four and had a different co-star more or less each issue. So it was what Marvel Team-Up was for Spider-Man.

By the way, the Masterworks come in two editions. The standard silver and black design – above – and a marble design variant. The Spider-Woman Masterworks variants come in a very eye-catching red design. I snagged volume three in this design and it works really well.
