It’s been (ulp!) over a year ago since I last posted anything about the twin lines of The Caped Crusader and The Dark Knight Detective books! There’s not been much movement in the months since, but there is some news.
It looks like the sister line, the Caped Crusader is probably completed. At least it brings the Batman title up to the Knightfall saga. So this line joins up with the omnibuses/chunky paperbacks that collect that epic storyline.
Volume 7 of the Dark Detective was published earlier this year and collects:
- Detective Comics #634-638, 641 and 643
- Detective Comics Annual #4
- Batman: legends of the Dark Knight #27 and
- Batman #474.
However, there was a production hiccup with this book affecting all copies (as far as I understand it). In Detective Comics Annual #4 the content on page 151 is printed again on page 153. Rather irritating but not disastrous!
I’ve read that DC is going to print all of the pages to Annual #4 in the next volume – hopefully in the right order!
Talking of which, volume 8 … now has some details. It will collect Detective Comics #644-653 and Detective Comics Annual #5 and will be published in the UK at the end of November 2023.
This brings things up to the start of the Knightfall saga, so that’s an impressive chunk of material collected!
